Triton Pro Bass Final - 2006/12/08 15:56
Muswellbrook angler Peter Phelps immersed himselfin battle to take out the grand final of the Triton Pro Bass Series held at Glenbawn Dam last weekend. Phelps will now travel to the US with Pro Bass series minor Premier Dean ( Hi-Ho) Sylvester as part of Australias test team to take on the Yanks in a major bass battle. Peters victory did not come without drama after he fell off the back of his boat and into the drink during an in contest "ablutions" Sources suggets he stepped on the foot control of his boat while taking a slash. But the funniest yarn out of the two days of competition involved a guy affectionatlyknown as Borat so called because he has grown a moustache and looks appalling like Karskhistans favourite son. Borat was held up in traffic last friday and had to high tail it up to Glenbawn. just outside of Muswellbrook he got pulled by the cops When asked why he was speeding, Borat said he thought his tail lights werent working so he thought the faster he went the less likely someone would run up the back of him. Jagsemash!!!. Glenbawn fished over the two days with more than 250 fish weighed. When you consider there are three sessions per day,and an angler can weigh in two per session, the average rate of 5.32 fishper day was outstanding. It probably had something to do with the rain that hit the area last weekend. And they were solid fish,an average size overall of 750grams.The Gloomis biggest bass was caught by Neil Scot from Scone who weighed a 1.68klg thumper.
