The Alan Beashel Trophy Race.
This race was held from on Saturday 5th April. We only had three yachts sail this event but we all had a great time at the brushy Pub for dinner and snooker. Alex was unable to sail at the last moment but joined the crews off Good Times, White Heather and Nessie, with his crew, even though they had to brave the Highway and not the water. There was a lot of evidence of miss-spent youth or shall we say good training for the future! The Brushy Pub has a great new chef and very fast service from the menu board.
Thanks to Graeme Campbell, who just manage to get the finish boat and buoy in place as the cat sailed across the line in ideal southerly conditions we got a set of results, despite the fact that some of our members are working 24-7 and have been unable to make the events.
Handicap results were as the yachts come across the line. First, Good times, second, White Heather and third Nessie.
Coming events.
• Brushgrove Anniversary Race postponed from February has now been cancelled for this year as members seem to have other commitments and we have run out of sailing time.
• 3rd and 4th May. We have re-programmed the Molvile Rocks Cruise for this weekend. We need to know if members are interested in sailing up river at this time of the year. Alternatively we can go downstream, but we need to have at least three yachts for this to run, PLEASE LET US KNOW.
• 7th May Monthly Meeting, 7.30pm at SGDC, if you have any suggestions how we can improve things for next season–please come along.
• Saturday 10th May -- Bunnings BBQ. As we want to sell tickets for a Mother’s Day raffle as well as the BBQ we must have additional help for all or part of the time.
• Mother’s Day Cruise has been cancelled.
• 17TH May Pickworth Family Trophy Race. This is from Grafton to Brushgrove with an overnight stay at The Brushy Pub for the Presentation Night and AGM.

NOTICE OF MEETIMG: AGM and PRESENTATION NIGHT.
All members and friends of the Club are invited to join us at the Brushgrove Hotel for Dinner on Saturday 17th May, commencing at 6.00pm for Dinner at 6.30 pm.
The Agenda for the evening is as follows.
6.00 pm. Pre-dinner Drinks.
6.30 pm Dinner
8.00 pm AGM followed by Presentation of Trophies for the 2007-8 Sailing Season
8.30 pm Address by Andrew Landenberger.
Our guest for the evening is local sailor and Olympic Silver medallist, Andrew Landenberger.
After working and sailing all over the world Andrew has returned to Grafton to work and raise his family. Andrew will help us to understand why the Clarence River is his choice of places to be.
The dinner for the evening will be in the Hotel Dining Room and members can order on the night from the menu board. Accommodation is available at the Hotel and can be booked on 0266476201 or email to brushypub@active8.net.au
The dinning room has been booked for the night but I require numbers and apologies with an RSVP by Monday 12th May.
