Synoptic chart for Wednesday, 10th March 2010
Cool southerly winds are affecting southeast but are only bringing light showers to the coasts. A high is keeping the interior generally dry with cool, gusty southeasterly winds. Warm, dry northeasterlies are blowing in WA as troughs trigger showers and storms in the tropics.
The polar jet is arcing north towards the southeast, allowing cool air to push over TAS, VIC and NSW. The northern jet is sending high cloud over WA and is helping develop a surface trough on the west coast.
